Melanie Marnich’s 2010 play brought to new life. Based on a true story, the actors dug into the real-life history of each character before making the character their own. This piece chronicles a significant story in American legal history – and in the history of labor rights – and yet it is one that so few people know (perhaps because it is a woman’s story). It is so important for us to bear witness to these important forgotten stories — this is one of the things that the theatre does better than any other media: allow us to bear witness in a room together.
